UREPI has wide regional experience in street addressing and geocoding. We pride ourselves in the successful implementation of the Kigali City Street Addressing Project – i.e. a comprehensive, city-wide geographic information system for use in the day to day strategic and operational decision-making.

For this town of slightly above 1 million inhabitants, it became necessary to adopt a “street-house” system as opposed to the initial block addressing system (neighborhood, block, plot), under a new program – PIGU (Infrastructure and Urban Management Project).

We successfully supported Kigali City Municipality, at all the different stages of the operation i.e. codification, base mapping, surveys, signage, computerization, implementation cost estimation, schedule for implementation, support to the implementation of the addressing plan, and tailored training of the project personnel based at one stop center.
